Press release from the Town of Shrewsbury: April 8, 2022 Starting on Sunday night, April 10th, the Town's sewer system consultants, Weston & Sampson, and contractor, National Water Main Cleaning Company, will be collecting nighttime sewer flow isolation measurements as part of the Year 11 Inflow and Infiltration Investigations Project. Work hours are expected to be 11:00PM - 6:00AM, Sunday-Thursday, weather permitting. These measurements are taken by accessing and monitoring sewer manholes to determine the amount of ground water entering the sewer system. This work should not to cause any interruption with sewer service. Work crews plan to have a police officer detail with them while this work is being performed, subject to officer availability. Crews will begin this work in subareas 3A & 3E, listed below. Manhole investigations will also be ongoing during the daytime for the next few weeks which involves Weston & Sampson employees opening manholes, conducting visual inspections, taking measurements, and recording all of the data. This information is later used to conduct repairs and improvements to manholes The final phase of this project, daytime cleaning and television inspection of sewer lines, is expected to begin later this month. The Town is on year 11 of an ongoing 12 year program to reduce inflow and infiltration in the sewer system. During the spring, this work will take place in the following subareas: Subarea 3D – Rawson Hill Drive/ Deerfield Road and Colonial Drive/Bridle Path areas. Click here for a map of this area.
