And Still I Rise Brunch is centered around teens struggling with mental health issues and creating actionable steps to overcome them. We are the stems from the roots that our ancestors created and must I say its time to own the power, install the power and acknowledge the powewr within. The rise of suicidal acts, drug usage, drug / sex abuse and pressure from the appearance of the worldwide internet is taking our teens out by the day. It's unacceptable ! Its time to RISEEEE UP! Maya Angelou once stated / written Did you want to see me broken Bowed heads and lowered eyes shoulders falling down like teardrops. weakended by my soulful cries. Does my haughtiness offend you ? Don't you take it awful hard Cause I laugh like I got gold mines Diggin in my own backyard. You may shoot me with your words, you may cut me with your eyes, you may kill me with your hatefulness, But still, Like air, I RISE!! -Maya Angelou My vision for this event is bigger than me and bigger than any thing I've ever done for the community.
