Description

With deep sadness, I am finally accepting of the need to rehome our beloved pet. He is nutered and will be UTD on all shots after tomorrow's appointment. Some history; First and foremost: He has high prey drive - his body count includes chickens, cat, squirrels, and a goat. I do not recommend other pets besides dogs. This requires a fenced yard of enclosed play area of some sort. Playing: He loves playing with other dogs. Him and a foster dog I had last year would jump on the large trampoline together we had. It was funny - happy to share video. Prior to my divorce, we could afford doggy daycare and he was a regular from his puppy years until the age of 5. He is very sociable with dogs, not so sure of humans that refuse to pet him and only leave cardboard boxes at the house. CRATE: Up until he was 4 we regularly used a crate, but he graduated from that, and than COVID hit - he expects freedom now - used to be crate trained but is not harming himself breaking free from the crate (after a month of reintroducing). He gets very anxious and destroys anything near the crate that is chewable. Due to crate issues, he must have a fulltime human with him or larger fenced kennel - when he does, he is a very relaxed dog who just wants you to throw and pick up the ball where he drops it. :) and he is lead trained for walks - He is approximately 60# and strong and fast he has a pretty decent recall, but has ran off before and not returned when called. He is extremely obtuse to the damage a car could do to him. He doesn't dig and is fully house trained. He has been around kids ever since he was 5 months old. His kid is a playmate, but he has tried to herd other children that come and visit. I would introduce slowly. I am looking for a good home for him over anything else, he will come with all supplies I have. This is cross posted in rescue and rehome groups and I will visit or ask for a video call to show me the home, his future areas, and meet you. I am looking to place him by the end of day on Easter Sunday - As I will be working from home until that date and am able to take the time to place him properly. You: Please do not have small pets, I don't want them hurt. if your neighbors have chickens, be aware you may need to buy them new ones. No yard size minimum, but proof of dogs allowed if renting or contact information of your landlord. If you own your home, I will research that and confirm via Tax Assessor data. Please tell me a little about yourself in the response, time at home, other dogs, financial ability, exercise schedule for pets, etc. Unthoughtful or short emails without any information will be ignored. Once I receive your thoughtful email I will respond with my number for texting/phone calls.
