Birmingham MET Gala. FORGE FASHION: honoring a legacy crafted by iron. Join us as we host a MET Gala inspired event here in Birmingham. The Met... in Birmingham?? Yes!! We are extremely excited to announce a Birmingham-based iteration of the widely renowned event that happens every 1st Monday in May - The MET Gala! Yes, it's giving theme. Yes, it's giving Fashion! In order to truly adopt the passionate energy towards fashion and costume, much like that of the MET's, we will be celebrating on Sunday, May 1st, the day before the official MET Gala. So get excited, start getting your looks together.. and most importantly get your tickets. All tickets must be purchased prior to the event, there will be no door ticketing. The Theme: FORGE FASHION It would not do us justice to bring the MET to Birmingham and not honor the city's historic significance in the Iron and Steel industries and the importance that they've had in the city's development even to this day. So with that being said, we are utilizing Iron and Steel as the creative motifs for the event's attire. Color. Texture. Material. Feel free to be very experimental with your garments and accessories. Iron can be viewed very literally, but it can also be very symbolic. Regard the materials used to craft it. Think about the person crafting it. Think about the process.
