EAST HARLEM, NY — A man in his sixties was beaten and robbed by a group of people on an East Harlem street, shortly after he took out cash from a nearby bank, according to police. Around 10:45 p.m. Monday, the 67-year-old man had just withdrawn the money and was walking on Third Avenue between East 117th and 118th streets. Four unidentified people ran up from behind and began punching the man, while one of them struck him in the head with an unknown blunt object, according to police. They then snatched his wallet, which contained about $800 in cash, a debit card and personal IDs. The man was taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/Metropolitan in stable condition. Police on Thursday released images that show three of the four suspects. They asked anyone with information to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). People can also submit tips online or on Twitter, @NYPDTips.
