LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — In their most recent report, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office detailed several incidents around the region. Some notable incidents included a swatting call in Ashburn, a pair of assaults, and a gunshot that struck a trailer. At 10:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Loudoun's emergency communications center received a call from someone claiming there was a "situation" at a home on Chatelain Circle in Ashburn. When deputies arrived on the scene, they determined that the report was a swatting attempt. Swatting is a phenomenon that originated among online gamers. It involves falsely reporting a serious or violent crime in an effort to draw a large police response against an unsuspecting person. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office did not provide any more information about Wednesday's swatting call. At 10 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies arrived at a home in Deirdre Square in Ashburn for a reported assault. Deputies determined that two victims, a woman and a child, were assaulted by a man they knew. Authorities identified the man as Danial Youssef. The adult victim told deputies that Youssef choked her and wouldn't let her leave the home. She was taken to a hospital to receive treatment for her injuries. Youssef was charged with two counts of assault, strangulation, and kidnapping. He is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. Another assault was reported at a gas station on Defender Drive in Chantilly. Police said a customer assaulted a gas station employee. Deputies found the customer near by and arrested him. Police identified the customer as Luffon Berry. He is charged with one count of assault. At 1:52 a.m. on Friday, deputies received a report of gunfire in Ashburn. As they investigated, deputies found a trailer that was hit by a gunshot, according to the police report. Deputies also found cartridge casings in the roadway in the 20600 block of Ashburn Road and in the intersection of Ashburn Road and Gloucester Parkway.
