Here are the top stories in Lakewood today: Hospitals warning residents not to forget COVID completely. Colorado currently has its lowest-ever COVID-19 numbers, and daily caseloads and deaths are at where they were before the national emergency was declared – but hospitals are preparing for another wave. (FOX31)Workers starting to return to downtown Denver. The hope is that with more people returning to the office, that will mean more customers for downtown shops and restaurants. If more money is spent at those businesses, it should mean more interest in vacant real estate, if all goes as planned. (9News)Heading south? Manitou Springs changing up paid parking program. The City Council adopted a new parking system that will include three different programs—aimed at easing congestion along the main corridor of the town. (CPR)Boulder County proposing to require more fire-resistant materials for homes in eastern parts of the county. Under the proposed plan, new homes in eastern parts of Boulder County would be required to meet tougher fire-resistant construction requirements. The hope is that these changes will prevent future losses for homeowners, like those caused by the Marshall fire. (CO Sun)Colorado to close COVID-19 testing sites as a new plan emerges. The State of Colorado is making changes to its COVID-19 testing centers, and will close most of them by the end of April, as part of the state's 'Roadmap Forward.'
