Seaside Heights Easter Egg Hunt Puts 10,000 Eggs On The Beach

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ — Easter is right around the corner, but the Easter festivities in Seaside Heights get started this weekend with the Easter egg hunt on the beach. More than 10,000 hollow Easter Eggs have been stuffed with coupons for treats for children and will be buried in the sand at five age-separated locations. The eggs will contain prizes from Seaside Heights businesses, such as free tickets for arcade play and boardwalk stand treats. The egg hunt is at 1 p.m. Saturday, and the rain date is 1 p.m. April 16 Egg Hunt Beach Entrance Locations By Age 0-2 years old: south of Hancock Avenue, across from Shake Shoppe (with the Easter Bunny)3-4 years old: south of Blaine Avenue, across from One-of-a-Kind5-6 years old: south of Sumner Avenue across from Coin Castle7-8 years old: south of Hamilton Avenue across from Lucky Leo's9-10 years old: south of Lincoln Avenue, across from BeachcomberSpecial Needs: Franklin Avenue near the stage Restrooms will be open on the boardwalk at Webster Avenue (south of Casino Pier) and at Ocean Terrace at Sheridan Avenue (north of Casino Pier). Be sure to bring a bag or pail in which to carry the eggs your child finds, and a reminder to dress in layers, because the temperature at the beach varies greatly depending on wind direction and can change quickly. For those who want more of the Easter festivities, the Easter Promenade returns to the boardwalk on April 17. Registration for the best-dressed contest will be held at the Visitor Information Center on the Boardwalk at Blaine Ave., 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on April 17. There are many categories for children; infant to 12 years old, and all ages for twins, triplets, adults and families. Judging begins promptly at 1 p.m. at the Franklin Avenue stage. The Boardwalk Easter Bunny will be handing out special tickets to the kids for a chance to win a bicycle! Family Fun entertainment will follow the judging.
