Description

Press release from the City of Memphis: April 5, 2022 The final pass for storm debris collections has begun. The City's emergency contractor encourages customers to have all storm-related debris ready for curbside pickup. Debris removal monitors will inspect each city street before completing the project. This will facilitate timely collection of all eligible storm debris placed curbside by the April 18 deadline. If your storm debris is not serviced by April 18, please report your missed collections to 311. Since collections began in early February, emergency contractors have removed more than 565,000 cubic yards of storm debris. Storm debris that is commingled with non-storm related waste is not eligible for collection by the emergency contractor, which may result in collection delays. As a reminder, storm debris is being removed during non-bulk weeks by a contractor under our emergency services plan instead of via 311 service requests or regular collections. For more information, please see our notice at https://www.memphistn.gov/government/solid-waste-management/storm-debris-removal/. The City and its contractors are making every effort to provide safe and efficient storm debris collection. We appreciate your patience. This press release was produced by the City of Memphis.
