Here are the top three stories in Charleston today: Charleston County has already purchased almost $15 million worth of wetland mitigation bank credits but their respective transportation projects seem to be stalling. The county purchased the credits from Point Farm MB and American Mitigation Company to offset the impact the projects will have on local salt marshes. This week, the Charleston County Board of Zoning Appeals denied two variance requests which have stalled the projects. (Charleston Post Courier)Ten different religious groups gathered on Thursday to pray for the end of the Ukrainian-Russian war. The groups gathered at Unity Church of Charleston. They gathered together and offered their own unique form of prayer, according to the Charleston Interreligious Council. (WTMA)The North Charleston Arts Fest will celebrate local artists and performers during its 39th annual five-day festival. The events start on May 4 with exhibits and activities scattered throughout the city. Admission to the festival is free for everyone.
