Description

Press release from the City of Carmel: April 4, 2022 Moments after we sent the traffic update below, we learned that construction crews at Main Street and Veterans Way were able to lay down some temporary asphalt and have RE-OPENED Main Street as of 3 p.m. today. Thank you for your patience and please continue to drive with caution in this area. Main Street delay; utility projects The current unseasonably cold weather has made it difficult to complete the work at Main Street and Veterans W ay as the temperatures have not been conducive to the laying of asphalt. While we wait for warmer temperatures, construction crews are taking this opportunity to get some bonus electrical work completed. We hope there will be a couple of days when conditions will be favorable this week for asphalt and we hope to reopen Main Street. The next phase of this project will continue north on 1st Avenue NW to 1st Street NW, but access to the Sophia Square garage will be maintained for parking. IN ADDITION: 1st Avenue NW - On or after April 4, for five days. Utility work will be taking place between 1st Street NW and 2nd Street NW. This will result in a full closure of the road. Local traffic only. Detour routes around these closures are marked in yellow below. This press release was produced by the City of Carmel. The views expressed here are the author's own.
