PHILADELPHIA — A driver on Interstate 95 south died after a loose tire smashed into their vehicle's window early Friday morning. The incident occurred at about 12:30 a.m. in the area between Front and Broad streets, according to Fox 29. A tire came off a pickup truck driving on Interstate 95 north, NBC10 reports. The tire hit the median, then hit the vehicle's windshield, trapping the 60-year-old driver, Action News reports. Crews had to cut the vehicle's roof off to get access to the victim, who has not been identified. The driver was taken to a hospital, where he died. It's unclear if the pickup truck driver knew what happened, according to multiple reports.
