JOB SUMMARY Villa Marin is currently looking for an On-Call Activities Assistant who is responsible for a variety of duties in the Health Center including but not limited to: Implementing therapeutic, meaningful activity programs to meet the individual Patient Care Unit (PCU) residents’ needs and interests. Providing back-up and other assistance to the entire activity team as needed. The right candidate for this position must be available to work a flexible schedule; shifts may include mornings, evenings, weekends and some holidays. SCHEDULE: Position is On-Call and does not offer a regular and customary schedule or working hoursActivities Assistant will be notified of available shifts when a regular staffing vacancy arisesShifts may also include evenings, weekends and some holidays KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in a social or recreational program in a health care or senior services settingKnowledge of the regulatory requirements applicable to the Patient Care Unit and Skilled Nursing Facility activitiesPatience and understanding of the aged, tact and courtesy in dealing with residents REQUIREMENTS Applicant must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations. Also must meet health assessment requirements as regulated by the California Department of Social Services. TB testing and fingerprint clearance required by Community Care Licensing through the State of California Department of Justice background check bureau.
