CROYDON, PA — Police have determined that a goose is to blame for a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred in the Croydon area on the morning of Friday, April 8.
According to police, the crash occurred at 9:55 a.m. on State and River roads.
"Upon arrival, officers investigated and found a goose flew out of the woods directly into the side of a motorcyclist's head," police said in a statement. "The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet. The impact sent the motorcyclist into the oncoming lane of traffic."
The motorcycle sideswiped a Chevrolet Spark before driving head-on into a Toyota SUV.
The Bucks County Rescue Squad pronounced the man dead at the scene. The intersection was closed for several hours following the crash to allow investigators to look into the cause.
