Girls on the Run inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, hands-on curriculum which creatively integrates running. Our 10-week programs end with the Girls on the Run 5k on May 14. This event is truly inspirational as 1000+ girls in 3rd through 8th grades cross the finish line of their first 5K with huge smiles on their faces and a tremendous sense of accomplishment. We need race day volunteers to help with event set up and breakdown, activity stations, cheer stations, course monitoring, finishers medals, food/beverage, and water stops. Join us at this joyful event and help us celebrate the accomplishments of of our participants!The 5K will be held at Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation Area in Fremont, CA. Free parking will be available for our volunteers, and there will also be a free shuttle bus from Union City BART.Volunteers can join as individuals or groups: if you are interested in helping out we will request that you signup through a link we will provide.
