WESTLAKE, OH — The annual Rain & Garden Show will return to Westlake on Saturday. This year's free event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will be held at the new Westlake Community Services Center, 28975 Hilliard Blvd. This is the first Rain & Garden Show in two years. The previous two planned events were canceled due to COVID-19. "The purpose of the Rain and Garden Show is to raise awareness within the local community about the importance of keeping our waterways clean and sustainable. All storm water flows directly into Lake Erie untreated," Westlake officials said in a news release. The event is open to residents of all ages and includes vendors and activities designed to entertain children and adults. This year, the Kids Zone will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will feature a face painter, a balloon clown, special guests and contests. Attendees are encouraged to bring a book to donate to the Goodwill Bookstore. Westlake's watershed consists of seven major streams and creeks that discharge into Lake Erie: Cahoon, Porter, Schwartz, Sperry, Wilhelmy, Wischmeyer, and Wolf.
