Hello, people of Toledo! Brad King here with today's issue of the Toledo Daily. First, today's weather: Showers of rain and snow. High: 45 Low: 31. Here are the top five stories today in Toledo: Health reports dating from October 2021 through February 2022 show several health code violations at UToledo's dining halls and other on-campus food spots. The violations are non-critical, but include reports of insects and rodents and food left at unsafe temperatures. (WTOL) The Craig Memorial Bridge is not functioning this week as was planned by the Ohio Department of Transportation. Crews are still working on the electric panel after all parts were secured for the mechanism. (WTOL) The bilingual Nuestra Gente 419 Food Pantry serves the community about 1,200 pounds of food each month. Located in the Old South End, the pantry has been serving food of all types, including Latino varieties. (WTVG) Toledo will experience a total solar eclipse the afternoon of April 8, 2024 lasting about two hours, with total coverage around 3:15 PM. The city won't see another eclipse like this until 2099. (WTVG)The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department's Office on Minority Health is celebrating the 35th year of Minority Health Month. The Wayman D. Palmer Community YMCA hosted an event, and a Violence Prevention Forum is planned for Wednesday at the downtown library. Online application is still available and the office is open 9:00-4:00 on weekdays. (WTOL)The Toledo Museum of Art is putting three impressionist paintings up for sale at Sotheby's May Impressionist & Modern Evening Auction. The paintings are by artists CΓ©zanne, Matisse, and Renoir and are expected to fetch over $40 million. (BG Independent Media)Holy Toledo Polka Days is being celebrated this weekend and is one of the most popular Polka Festivals in the United States.
