2 Candidates Leading In Tight Paramus Council Race

PARAMUS, NJ — With two seats available on the Paramus Borough Council, Democrats Mariaelena Bellinger and Dominick Minervini are leading the race, but Republican Christopher DiPiazza is close behind as Bergen County reports unofficial results. Four candidates are vying for two seats on the Borough Council in the General Election. Here's the unofficial count so far: Christopher DiPiazza — 6,164Michael Rohdieck — 5,815Mariaelena Bellinger — 6,520Dominick Minervini — 6,293 Bergen County reports a total of 376,822 ballots cast, but, according to the unofficial results, only absentee and early precincts have been reported so far, with 71 of 73 in. The county has yet to make an estimate on overall voter turnout. County Clerk John S. Hogan didn't provide much of an update on Twitter Wednesday morning, stating that results would continue to be posted online. Phil Murphy because of the coronavirus, there have been many questions about how the process will work. Every the ballot sent through the mail had to be postmarked by Nov. 3. It must be received by your county's election boards by 8 p.m. on Nov. 10. "Every vote should be safe. Every vote should be secure. Every vote should be counted," Murphy said of the process.
