BETHEL, CT — Johnson School will transition to distance learning on Thursday and Friday, and then to the hybrid attendance model at least through Thanksgiving. Three confirmed cases of the virus were reported at the school on Nov. 5. Superintendent Christine Carver notified families of the schedule change on Wednesday. "While there have been no additional exposures at school, we have been informed of more cases associated with the school. We are working with the Department of Public Health to implement thorough contact protocols to determine if there are any changes in patterns of transmission," Carver said in the note. Berry and Rockwell Elementary will continue full in-school learning, and the middle schools and high school will remain in hybrid attendance mode. "We do not take this decision lightly," Carver wrote, "as we know that it will have an impact on families. We will always work towards the goal of returning to full in-person learning, as it is the best model for our students."
