Description
ENCINITAS, CA — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a train Friday in San Diego's North County.
The North Coastal Transit District Coaster train struck the person at about 8:30 a.m. near the La Costa Avenue overpass in Encinitas, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, sheriff's Deputy Christopher Campbell said. The person's name, age and gender were not released.
Anyone with information about the deadly collision was asked to call the sheriff's department's non-emergency line at 858-565-5200.
