PARAMUS, NJ — An Emerson man is on the run no more after the Prosecutor's Office announced his arrest in connection to a fatal hit-and-run crash in Paramus last week.
Michael Mascaro was arrested Saturday on charges of leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle accident and hindering apprehension.
According to authorities, Mascaro was the driver of a car that struck and killed a pedestrian on Forest Avenue last Thursday.
The 58-year-old woman, who authorities did not identify, was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center after police received a tip she was lying in the roadway.
She was later pronounced dead.
Mascaro was remanded to Bergen County Jail, authorities say, pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
