PARAMUS, NJ — A New Jersey contractor has been arrested after he was hired to replace a window at a Paramus home, but instead left an unfinished job and a hidden camera in the home's bathroom, police said. Romeo Sanchez, 47, of West New York, New Jersey, is charged with invasion of privacy after a Paramus family reported a micro camera had been hidden inside their bathroom wall. Sanchez had been hired by the homeowners to replace a window, but left the job unfinished and said he would return at a later date. After reviewing the footage stored on the camera, Paramus detectives found multiple clips of the victim's bathroom, as well as a bathroom in another residence, later identified as a home in Wayne. Police interviewed Sanchez on Sept. 17, when he admitted to placing the camera in the victim's bathroom. He told police he planned to remove the camera when he returned to the home to finish replacing the window. Sanchez was arrested on Sept. 17. He was released on his own recognizance, pending a court appearance. Paramus police have turned the Wayne investigation over to the township's department, they said.
