The Oakland Jazz Choir, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is one of only a few community jazz choirs in the country. It’s a great time to join! If you've missed singing, try us for a change! Come sing with us!We're looking for: Ability to sing on pitchStrong feel for syncopationSolid ability to hold harmony against other partsAbility to blend vocally with others (singing and listening at the same time)Team-focused attitude and a love for jazzAbility to commit to weekly rehearsals (7:30 - 10:00 pm) on Wednesday night in downtown Oakland, private practice on your own, occasional sectional or special rehearsals, and ability to make time for gigs.Vocal ensemble experienceSight reading/music reading is helpful, but not requiredSolo or lead singing abilities are helpful, but not requiredBeatboxing a plus Full vaccination is required.
