PARAMUS, NJ — A former Paramus private school therapist had her license permanently revoked this week after she was arrested for engaging in illegal sexual conduct with a student under 18 earlier this year.
The Office of the Attonery General announced Tara Cardinale, 39, of Washington Township, agreed to the permanent revocation of her New Jersey license, as a condition of her guilty plea to criminal sexual contact with a student who was under the age of 18.
According to the final consent order, Cardinale engaged in this conduct while serving as the student's primary therapist at New Alliance Academy in Paramus.
"This licensee engaged in sexual conduct with a teenager under her professional supervision, not only violating our criminal laws, but also committing an appalling breach of basic ethics and professional standards," said Attorney General Gurbir Grewal.
According to a Patch report, a Paramus Police investigation revealed that Cardinale invited the student to her home in Washington Township where they engaged in sexual activity.
