I can't think of a good reason not to close down Title 42. Remember, the purpose was to help control Covid cases and infections. The pandemic is over therefore we can eliminate that temporary law. Title 42 is not stopping illegals from entering the country; it's only giving us an excuse to return some. Overall, Biden has allowed millions of illegals to come in and has even helped them. If people and the democrats are actually worried about the mass influx of illegals... then close the border. If the democrats don't want to do that, then they'll have to deal with the response from the people this fall. Maggie Hassan is going to have enough fires to put out in order to save her seat without adding more and more illegals this summer. It's pretty much a given that the GOP will win big this fall. Imagine a bill that would declare all illegal crossings after Jan 1, 2021, to be illegals and then make efforts to deport those illegals. Those with legitimate requests to enter will fall to the end of the list of people from around the world who are trying to immigrate legally.
