Description
I am looking for a wonderful new home for my beloved Lovebird and Green Cheek Conure. My partner and I are selling our house and moving onto a sailboat and for many reasons we cannot take them with us. I am looking for an excellent home and will be very picky 🙂 I live outside of Eugene and would like for their new owners to come meet them before adopting. They must go together - they are not strongly bonded but they are companions and have spent the last six years together, I would like this aspect of their life to stay the same. Mango is a 7-year-old peach-face Lovebird who I have had since he was just weaned. He was hand-fed and loves human attention and affection. He is also a big fan of flying and exploring. He has never bit anyone and I imagine that he will warm up to his new owner(s) quickly. He also knows a couple of fun and adorable tricks! Keiori is a Green Cheek Conure, I got her as an adult from Colleen's One Stop Bird Shop. I believe that she was also hand-fed, as she loves people. I think she is around 7 or 8 years old. She is a major cuddle bug, but she is a bit wary of hands and will nip if you approach her with your hands (but not too hard, she has never broken the skin). She prefers to hop on and off your shoulder on her own terms, rather than being approached with a hand first. Once on your shoulder, she loves to nuzzle against your cheek or a nice scratchy beard! I do have some requirements for their future home: • I think that a quiet home without young children would be best. Keiori can be easily startled and is skittish about hands in her cage • I will require that they never have their wings clipped. Mango has been free-flying his whole life and I think that this would be cruel to him. Keiori had her wings clipped when she was young, as a result, she is a very hesitant flyer and cannot stay airborne for very long. • Must have fresh fruits and veggies (I use a lot of frozen and dried food, which makes this much easier) and Harrison's bird food (can be ordered on Amazon, 1-lb bag will last about 4-5 months) • Have a safe place for out-of-cage flying time and human interaction at a minimum every other day for an hour or so • I do not want them to be used for breeding The birds come with a very large flight cage (62.5" x 20.5" x 53.25") and two smaller travel cages (19" x 15" x 22" and 30" x 18" x18" - on warm summer days I will bring them outside in these, in a protected, shady spot), all of their food, treats, toys and dishes, plus a lamp with a digital timer to ensure that they get the correct amount of light each day. I am asking a very reasonable rehoming fee but my highest priority is finding them a great home where they will get a lot of human interaction. If you are interested, please send me a PM and tell me about your bird experience and what kind of home you can provide for them. Thank you!
