Delivery Technician - Medical Equipment Shift: 11:00 am – 7:30 pm Monday - Friday Position Summary: Safely deliver home medical equipment to primarily hospice patient homes or facilities. Provides basic instructions for HME (home medical equipment) to customers, complete equipment repairs and maintenance. Primary Responsibilities: • Safely delivers and picks up equipment from hospice and home care patients. Sets up equipment and provides instructions to patients on their HME, such as hospital beds, patient lifts, wheelchairs, basic oxygen. • Loads and unloads durable medical equipment and oxygen onto delivery vehicle. • Be aware of and follow all safety procedures to ensure you and the patient are protected. • Complies with all applicable regulatory requirements including oxygen tank manifest and vehicle inspection. • Maintain a courteous, professional attitude toward all contacts, including patients, caregivers, and customers while maintaining a neat and clean appearance. • Follow HIPAA guidelines • Responds to emergency delivery calls as needed and on an on-call basis. • Troubleshoot equipment failures and make repairs to equipment. • Clean and sanitize equipment. • May create next days’ delivery schedule for drivers. • Stage equipment for delivery vans for next day. • Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor. Qualifications: • Home medical equipment delivery experience preferred • Furniture moving and/or automotive technician experience a plus • High school diploma • Caring and patient individual who is comfortable delivering equipment to customers with various mental and physical disabilities • Excellent customer service skills • Proven technical and mechanical aptitude in areas such as troubleshooting, repairs and critical thinking. • Flexible and dependable with good time management skills • Takes ownership of work schedule and takes pride in their work • Quick learner and enthusiastic team player who strives for excellence • Valid driver's license and good driving record for the past three years. • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. • Must be 21 years of age or older. • Proof of Covid vaccination required Renmar DME offers full time employees medical, dental and vision insurance options.
