Description

If you have a cat over 10 years old, this statistic might shock you: - Nearly 40% of all cats have clinical signs of degenerative arthritis and - 90% of cats over the age of 12 show evidence of arthritis on their x-rays Just like us, our pets can suffer from common degenerative diseases, like arthritis, as they age. A high percentage of arthritic cats display subtle behaviors in their daily activity that indicate they are likely in chronic pain caused by degenerative arthritis. These signs are so subtle they are often missed. The good news is that we have a list of symptoms to help you identify the subtle signs of arthritis. Once a cat’s arthritis is identified, we can potentially relieve some of a cat’s arthritis pain with treatment, restoring some activities and quality of life for your pet. If your cat displays these arthritis symptoms, your cat may be eligible for a free arthritis exam. The free arthritis exam includes checking joints for signs of arthritis or muscle weakness. If your cat’s exam confirms an arthritis diagnosis, your cat may also qualify to screen for our arthritis pain study. Study screening, for qualified cats, includes free x-rays and full geriatric bloodwork panel as part of the eligibility screening. We’re here to help you take the best care of your aging pets. Reach out to our office through the website form to see if your cat qualifies for a free arthritis screening. We have an active veterinary study clinic in Jackson, MS!
