OCEAN CITY, NJ — State Police identified the deceased victim of a boating incident that occurred Wednesday off Ocean City. The crash killed Philip Azzante, 59, of Alloway, said Tpr. Alejandro Goez. The incident also injured another man, who police identified as George Boos, of Thorofare. He was hospitalized at Shore Medical Center, and State Police didn't know his current condition. State Police and the U.S. Coast Guard were among the agencies who responded at 11:58 a.m. Wednesday. Preliminary investigation revealed that Boos took the boat west to enter the Great Egg Harbor Inlet, when they lost control and were both ejected, Goez told Patch. The boat continued unmanned to the beach. A Coast Guard helicopter found Azzante, the passenger, who Ocean City Beach Patrol recovered. He was pronounced dead at the dock in Longport. The OCBP also recovered Boos and took him to the dock before he was hospitalized.
