Ever wanted to learn how to use the skew chisel for turning, then this is the class for you. This class is for the student that already has spindle turning experience, or has taken the Beginning Turning Spindle class. The focus of the class will be on the use of the Skew Chisel in spindle turning. We will discuss the different types and grinds of Skew chisels. You will then be shown and have a chance to practice the various types of cut the Skew chisel is capable of. This is a skills based class. However, if time permits we will apply these skills to a small project. Students are required to provide their own safety glasses and hearing protection (these can be purchased at the store). A safety face shield is also recommended.
