Venmo: @Nathan-Luft @Nathan_Luft (twitter) @nathanluftcomedy (Instagram and Tiktok) Headliner: Kandyce August Comedy courses through her Cajun blood. Kandyce August was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, the Big Easy. If you are wondering why she doesn’t have a Cajun accident, it’s likely because she left the South years ago. She took a comedy class in New York City when she first got the comedy bug, but didn’t pursue her stagecraft until years later in Washington DC. After that first time on stage she was hooked, and hasn’t looked back since. She currently resides in New Jersey and spends much of her time racking up laughs on New York City’s most respected stages. Although she has only been performing comedy professionally for 5 years, Kandyce August has really started to find her way. She has performed in comedy festivals from Alaska (Alaska B4U Die Festival) to Hawaii (Aloha Festival) and all points in between. She has been in more than 25 festivals in all. Some of the highlights include Boston’s Women in Comedy Festival, Detroit’s Motor City Comedy Festival, Bad Bitch Revolution Fest in New York, Kentucky’s Laugh Your Bluegrass Off and the Cloud Top Comedy Festival in New Mexico. She has been seen on the Amazon television show, Comics Watching Comics and has been seen multiple times at the World Series of Comedy, including at their finals in Las Vegas. She has shared the stage with many comedy greats, including Guy Torrey, Bobcat Goldthwait and Mark Normand. Kandyce is friendly and inviting off-stage. She is intelligent, educated and unassuming. Onstage, however, she is a powerful force to be reckoned with. And yet, she still comes off as relaxed, constantly in control, easy going and fun. Whether she is talking about the New York City toll system, overly specific racism, her struggles with weight gain and loss, her search for the perfect man or missing out on dating R Kelly, her confidence draws you in and compels you to listen. You can’t wait to hear what she has to say next. Venmo: Just_Kandyce Instagram: @Just_Kandyce Ever Want to try Stand-up? Stick around for our Open Mic just a few minutes after the show!
