Description

GAITHERSBURG, MD — The Gaithersburg Police Department is offering a safe and anonymous way for residents to get rid of leftover, unwanted, and expired prescription drugs. Authorities are teaming up with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for the initiative, called National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, to provide easy and responsible means of disposal, keep our drinking water clean, and educate people about prescription drug abuse and theft, according to officials. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, you can dispose your pills for disposal at the Gaithersburg police station, located at 14 Fulks Corner Ave. No liquids or syringes will be accepted. In addition, a Prescription Drop Box is available in the Gaithersburg Police Department's lobby, accessible throughout the year from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Visitors must wear masks and practice social distancing.
