Theta Tau Omega Chapter & A Phi A Fraternity, Inc.-Zeta Phi Lambda Chapter host financial seminar and panel discussion We are excited to share Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated-Theta Tau Omega Chapter in collaboration The Polished Pearls Foundation (our philanthropic arm) and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated-Zeta Phi Lambda Chapter will host a Financial Literacy Day that will be free and open to the community! Our keynote speaker is Bridgeport’s own, Stacey Tisdale, CEO of Mind, Money, Media, Inc. She’s been seen on Oprah Winfrey Show, Tech Live, CBS Market Watch, Wall Street Journal Reports, Early Show Author of The True Cost of Happiness “The Real Story Managing Your Money” Professional Contributions to Psychology Today, Money Talk, Oprah Magazine, Essence Magazine, Business Week, Black Enterprise, CNN, Headline News, Inside Africa, Huffington Post and Black Voices Awardee of US Department of Education’s Excellence in Economics. Stacey is pleased and poised to return home to synthesize “The Black Money Mindset and New Economy” in her address. Stacey will also be discussing a new collaborative initiative that she and her partners will launching called Stellar aimed at providing credit access to the over 132 million Americans who currently have poor credit or no credit. The event will also include a panel of professionals lending their insight on trending financial topics and the current state of affairs regarding their respective areas of expertise. Our aim for this occasion is to focus on challenges that impede financial freedom for families with an emphasis on African Americans. This will be an opportunity for participants to learn strategies on overcoming the limitations of poor credit; become empowered on how to seize and create investment opportunities; and equip attendees with tools needed to help “Build an Economic Legacy”.
