Juneteenth is now a national holiday, and what a better way to kick off this National holiday than with our annual Juneteenth Pageant. The Juneteenth Organization of Pueblo (JOP) was established in Pueblo in 1978, and we have been hosting the Juneteenth Pageant since 1981. The young ladies who are competing this year are now a part of Black History, Pueblo's Juneteenth's History, and Colorado's history. This year 12 young ladies will be competing for 3 titles; Juneteenth Princess 6-10 year old's, Lil-Miss Juneteenth 11-14 year old's, and Miss Juneteenth 15-18 year old's. Last year, your 2021 Juneteenth Queen, Ava Parker has made history by furthering her Pageant Career by attending the 2nd Annual National Miss Juneteenth Scholarship Program, that was held in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ava was fortunate enough to bring home the title, of Miss Congeniality. This years Miss Juneteenth winner will also have the opportunity to compete in the National Miss Juneteenth Pageant. She also along with the 2022 Court will have opportunities to attend many different appearances, throughout Southern Colorado. Please help us encourage our youth to meet their goals and understand that they are STRONG AND BEAUTIFUL.
