What is LIMC?The Long Island Musicians Collective is an initiative spearheaded by Phil Smith (leader of The 90’s Band) and Bryce Larsen (American Idol contestant, bandleader and solo artist) with the goal of bringing gigging musicians together to discuss the craft, the business and the life through organized in-person events. Event DetailsThe first event on Tuesday, April 26th, 2022 at the Nag’s Head Alehouse in Huntington, NY will be a networking opportunity and organized discussion focused on marketing and client relations for the gigging musician, followed by an open-ended loose jam session. Schedule:7 PM: Mingle with other musicians. Meet new people and catch up with friends. Maybe you'll find that guitarist you've been looking for!8 PM: Discussion led by Bryce & Phil. Topics will be marketing and managing relationships with clients/venues. – Followed by Q&A9 PM: Open jamBryce and Phil will lead a discussion around some best practices for the gigging musician. This is the best time of year to put some thought into your marketing strategy. How will you convert your summer gigs into future opportunities? What do you need to put into place now so that you are ready for the summer rush? Whether we like it or not, as a gigging musician the job entails more than just musical skill. We need to be able to communicate effectively with clients, bookers and venue management to establish lasting relationships and secure future work.
