Tickets are $15 pre-sale on www.historicfairmount.com or $20 on the days of the tour at the ticket boothFort Worth’s Fairmount National Historic District will host its 40th Annual Tour of Historic Homes. Visitors will gather over Mother’s Day weekend, May 7-8 to celebrate the rich architectural history of the largest historic neighborhood in the Southwest region. This year’s tour is a comeback to full house tours following two years of remote or outdoor viewing. The event will highlight four beautifully restored bungalow-style homes, the Naylor-Moses House as an in-progress renovation, and a beautifully restored bungalow currently housing the headquarters of Fort Worth Focused Real Estate. A special treat this year is the M. A. Benton House, a Victorian-style house and Registered Texas Historic Landmark built in 1898 and one of the oldest homes in Fort Worth. Most of the homes on the tour were originally built between 1890-1930, and characteristics include: beamed interior ceilings, colonnades, pocket doors, antique hardware, prominent wide front porches, overhanging eaves, as well as exposed rafters and beams — to name a few.   Attendees will also enjoy a neighborhood parade to kick-off the event, and those looking to grab a bite to eat during the tour can visit one of Magnolia Avenue’s many popular restaurants. 15 for tickets purchased in advance at www.historicfairmount.com; or $20 for tickets purchased on the day-of at the Welcome Pavilion. Tickets will be available for pickup from noon-5 p.m. on May 7 and Noon-4 p.m. on May 8. Social media users are encouraged to use the hashtag #FairmountHomeTour to follow and/or post about event happenings, as well as to visit www.facebook.com/historicfairmount.
