HUMAN TRAFFICKING INVESTIGATIONS POST CERTIFIED/ CCN: 2670-21519-22-001 (40 hours)August 15-19, 2022 0800-1700 hours Human trafficking is a multi-billion dollar criminal industry and is notoriously under reported. In an attempt to raise awareness and combat this horrendous crime, legislation now mandates officers participate in human trafficking training. This course will focus on the commercial sex trafficking aspect of human trafficking and is meant for sworn law enforcement officers whose primary assignment includes investigating human trafficking, prostitution, pimping and pandering. It will go beyond the basic awareness training and dive deep into the techniques and strategies used to locate and arrest suspects and rescue victims.Topics will include a victim centered approach to human trafficking investigations, techniques and recovering and processing evidence and the technology used, hands on practical application of undercover communications and the opportunity to hear from a prosecuting Deputy District Attorney. We will also discuss the multi-disciplinary approach to victim recovery and speak with a human trafficking survivor.By the end of this course, you will be able to successfully investigate and assist in the prosecution of a successful human trafficking case.
