BFS is excited to present a screening of Magnolia Pictures’ vibrant new French romantic-comedy, Anaïs in Love. BFS is excited to present a screening of Magnolia Pictures’ vibrant new French romantic-comedy, Anaïs in Love, from first time feature writer/director Charline Bourgeois-Tacquet (Pauline Enslaved, Joujou). The film made its world premiere at Cannes Film Festival Critics Week, and will see its theatrical release on Apil 29th. Anaïs in Love is a sensitive portrait of an impulsive young woman. The film begins with Anaïs’ uncertainty in her relationship with her current boyfriend, all while struggling professionally to complete her thesis. After attending a friend’s party, Anaïs meets and falls into an affair with a middle-aged publisher named Daniel (Denis Podalydès). As their relationship quickly begins to fall apart, Anaïs discovers and becomes enchanted by the literary work of Daniel’s wife, Emilie (Valeria Bruni Tedeschi), and after a chance encounter with Emilie, Anais begins to pursue her and a flirtation begins to develop, ultimately turning into something much more meaningful for both women. A lighthearted nod to classical romances, the film explores the longings of wayward hearts. Priority will be given to UCLA Students.
