Hi, I'm Dion (sociability with dogs unknown…would need to keep separate initially, with a SLOW introduction to dog in home.). I’m set to be euthanized April 13th, 8 am. Why am I E-listed? STRESS!! I’m mentally suffering in my kennel!! I’m barking and jumping off the kennel walls! It is inhumane to keep me here!! Can you save my life? I’m a 1-year-old, neutered, white and black American Pit Bull Terrier Mix (72 lbs.). The person that found me said he couldn’t keep me because he had small children. When I arrived at the shelter, I was calm and allowed all handling and petting during my intake. Volunteers say that I am friendly and love attention; but because I’m young, I occasionally jump up to get it. I will lean in for pets and have been petted by multiple people, including a toddler that petted me briefly. I wag my tail when approached and am easy to take and return to my kennel. I “sit” and “shake” for treats and take them gently. I like playing fetch, and I’m learning to return the ball. I’m an energetic puppy that will pull on-leash because I want to “get up and go”. Using a harness has helped me. When I’m near other dogs, I can get overly excited and pull towards them. Being in a kennel day after day with limited time for exercise and play is hard on me!! I need to be out of here ASAP. It is recommended that I meet the entire family, and any children need to be older. When I go to your home, I will need time to decompress and relax and would benefit from leash training. Can you help me... I’m just too young to die... Will you save my life?
