Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Associate FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Part Time- 24 hours per week Salary: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on experience Excellent Benefits Package Available Who We Are: Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA (PHS/SPCA) is a local, private, non-profit charitable organization dedicated to animal welfare. PHS/SPCA is truly an open admission shelter, not only accepting many pet animals who might be refused at other shelters, but also taking care of injured and orphaned native wildlife from San Francisco through San Mateo and the northern half of Santa Clara County. Our work means 6,300 lives saved each year. To learn more about us, visit www.phs-spca.org. Who are you: You take initiative when assisting our staff with shelter facilities and improvement projects. You perform, plan, and coordinate shelter projects and repairs. You know the importance of safety and maintenance of all shelter facilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Maintain two PHS/SPCA buildings and 1 small satellite locations in good, functional and safe repair. • Construct or install major projects pertaining to buildings, plumbing, electrical, etc. • Check and maintain air conditioning, heating, and ventilating systems. • Actively collaborate with other departs within the organization. • Perform necessary carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting and masonry repairs and installation as required. • HVAC, Mechanical & Prior building maintenance preferred • Maintain safe environment for employees of PHS/SPCA. • Maintain organized work area, free of hazards. • Perform other duties as assigned. • Janitorial Duties as needed. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
