Join us the Weslyn Bennett Foundation in celebrating our new National holiday, Juneteenth with food, square-dancing lessons, rodeo. Join us in celebrating our new National holiday, Juneteenth!  After the success of the Weslyn Bennett Foundation’s Kick Start Reading Month event (see more details here), we are excited to host our first Juneteenth event.  It will be held on June 18, 2022, from 12:00 p.m to 2:00 p.m. at the Leanna Hicks Public Library in Inkster, MI.  Come and enjoy this FREE, country-style event complete with food, square dancing lessons, horses and rodeo demonstration, and of course, information about the Juneteenth Celebration! To learn more information click here.   Juneteenth, is a national holiday commemorating the end of slavery by marking the day June 19th, 1865 enslaved people in Texas learned they were free.  We hope you can come to celebrate “Freedom Day” with us!
