NEW YORK CITY — A 4-year-old boy's fall from a sixth-floor window in the Bronx set his neighbors and police into a desperate race to save him, dramatic video shows.
With their help, the boy miraculously survived his plunge Tuesday and is in stable condition at a local hospital, according to the NYPD.
The tense scramble to save the boy was captured on NYPD body camera footage tweeted by police officials.
"When a 4-year-old boy fell out of a 6th-floor window in the Bronx yesterday, residents tending to the boy immediately called 9-1-1," the NYPD tweeted. "In a coordinated effort by the residents, EMS, and officers from @NYPDPSA7, the boy was rushed to the hospital & is currently in stable condition."

A resident can be seen tending to the boy before he literally hands the child off to an NYPD officer.
The cop cradles the child while rushing to a police van, which rushed to meet with EMS medics, who took over the boy's care.
The boy had pushed out an air conditioner while at home with his mother, the New York Post first reported.
