OAKLAND, NJ — A few Oakland school district administrators earn more than $150,000, information released by the New Jersey Department of Education shows. The administrators are among the 1,552 on the department's list of superintendents and principals and their salaries released annually. The local administrators, their salaries, years of service, and their rank on the list, are: Superintendents and assistant superintendents: 284. Gina Coffaro, 31 years, $178,183 Principals and assistant principals: 65. Barbara Ciambra, Heights Elementary School, 27 years, $179,048 75. Adam Silverstein, Manito Elementary School, 18 years, $177,962 280. Gregg Desiderio, Valley Middle School, 22 years, $164,378 The list has grown recently. Last year, fewer than 1,000 principals and superintendents made $150,000 annually. More teachers are earning six-figure salaries, too. The increase was less than 1 percent above the previous year's median salary. The Department of Education has said the department double-checks the data before delivering it to the media.
