BROOKLINE, MA — Casey Ngo-Miller, the Deputy Superintendent of Student Services for the Public Schools of Brookline, announced Wednesday that she will be leaving the district at the end of the school year. Beginning July 1, Ngo-Miller will be joining Newton Public Schools as the Assistant Superintendent for Student Services. Her last day in Brookline will be June 30. "When I joined PSB five years ago I was excited about working in a diverse community like Brookline," Ngo-Miller said in a letter to the school community. "It has been so rewarding to work with the families and staff here. I am grateful for all that I have learned during this formative period and deeply proud of what we have accomplished together for the students of PSB." Over the next few months, Ngo-Miller will work with Superintendent Linus Guillory and Office of Student Services (OSS) team to determine the best path forward for the leadership of OSS. "The recently completed Special Education Program Review presents a clear-headed assessment of our program's strengths, accomplishments, and areas for growth, and I am confident that I have positioned the department for a successful future," Ngo-Miller said. "The social emotional learning (SEL) work OSS has engaged in this year has already begun to reap benefits by way of added therapeutic supports to all students. Our strong team of nurses have also expertly navigated the pandemic to allow the district to open its doors and safely operate, keeping in-person learning a priority." "Above all, I am proud of the team that we have built together, and I hope that my enduring legacy is one of collaboration and mutual respect that I believe is the cornerstone of our work," she continued.
