Here are the top three stories today in Albuquerque: Students of the University of New Mexico Film & Digital Arts will gather together to showcase the capstone projects from 2020 and 2021. The projects were not presented due to the COVID-19 pandemic but are now getting their moment on the silver screen thanks to the 2020-2021 Lost Capstone Films Premiere Event. The screenings will be tomorrow, Apr. 9 at 4:00 p.m. at the South Broadway Cultural Center. (Albuquerque Journal) The Albuquerque Police Department is searching for a suspect in the Feb. 9 shooting at 21 1/2 Hotel Circle. The department reports that the suspect is a bald Caucasian male driving a 2008 white Dodge Ram 2500 with tinted windows. Anyone with information related to the incident is being asked to contact Crime Stoppers. (KRQE News 13) The Albuquerque Public School Board has passed on a proposal that would extend the school year by 10 days. The proposal would have integrated the extra days by extending the school day by an hour-and-a-half each day at all district elementary schools.
