CLARKSBURG, MD — A 16-year-old student from Clarksburg High School is being charged with weapons possession following an altercation that put the high school and nearby schools in lockdown Wednesday morning, Montgomery County Police said.
Nafees Muhammad was arrested at his home Wednesday morning, according to authorities.
Police got a call Wednesday morning from a person who said they saw a person display a handgun after a parking dispute in the 22400 block of Brick Haven Way, then run in the direction of Clarksburg High School. Authorities say that Muhammad went to school after the altercation and then left, returning home, where he was arrested.
Police say they had a search warrant for his home and car and found three Polymer80 kits used to create "ghost guns," 9mm ammunition and a safe, and a loaded PMF Polymer80 9MM handgun with an extended 30 round magazine.
Muhammad is charged with first-degree assault, possession of a handgun, handgun by a minor and use of a handgun in the commission of a violent crime, according to a police news release.
