OAKLAND, NJ — Mayor Linda Schwager wants to continue the progress she has made in her first term in the borough's highest elected office. Schwager was re-elected on Tuesday. She narrowly defated her opponent, Eric Kulmala. Schwager said that another term gives her the opportunity to "advocate for all the residents of Oakland." Schwager wants to pursue a partnership to permanently fix the Patriots Way Bridge, and dismantle the Stream House and replace it with a "structure we are proud to show in our community," she said. Schwager also wants to bring senior housing to Oakland and begin on the downtown revitalization project. "Oakland is a great place to live and raise a family," Schwager said. "I hope we can all work together to build an even brighter future for our community." Related: Oakland Mayor's Race Was Very Close This Year Email: [email protected]
