HACKENSACK, NJ — A judge on Thursday issued an arrest warrant for Robert "Bobby" Gun, a bare-knuckle boxer from Hackensack, who's facing charges in connection with a fatal 2019 car crash.
Gunn, 49, was scheduled to appear in court for a pre-trial conference on Thursday but did not show up, NJ.com reported. His public defender claimed Gunn couldn't make it due to a medical emergency.
Gunn has been charged with death by auto and aggravated assault in connection with the crash in Salem County that killed Polly Tornari, 51, of Glassboro. Her husband, Robert, was seriously injured.
According to a separate NJ.com report, Gunn was driving a Dodge pickup northbound on County Route 635 in Upper Pittsgrove Township on Sept. 28, 2019, when police say he drove into the southbound lane and slammed head-on into a Hyundai Elantra driven by Tornari.
Gunn's attorney claimed he was experiencing extremely high blood pressure and was on his way to the hospital, NJ.com reported.
Superior Court Judge Linda Lawhun issued the bench warrant, stating she was "unmoved."
"I've seen no medical evidence as to all of the issues and symptoms that Mr. Gunn has claimed that he's having," Lawhun said.
