By Elizabeth Ireland, Times of San Diego April 7, 2022 The San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency reported 255 new COVID-19 infections Wednesday and seven more deaths as hospitalizations remained steady. No new COVID-positive patients were admitted to San Diego County hospitals, according to the latest state data. Wednesday's data increased the county's cumulative coronavirus totals to 752,078 cases and 5,205 deaths. So far 4.0% of county residents with confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been hospitalized and 0.7% have died of the disease. A total of 1,221,004 — or 55.7% — of San Diego County residents who are fully vaccinated have received a booster shot, according to the agency. More than 2.95 million — or 94.0% — of San Diego County residents age 5 and older are at least partially vaccinated and 2.59 million, or 82.6%, are fully vaccinated.
