FORT LEE, NJ — A Philadelphia man faces money laundering and drug possession charges after a narcotics investigation, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
The BCPO's Narcotics Task Force discovered that 27-year-old Anderson German-Javier "was transporting bulk amounts of currency and suspected narcotics through Bergen County," Musella said in a news release.
Officers searched his vehicle in Fort Lee on Wednesday and found $15,000 in cash along with "small amounts" of heroin and fentanyl in a hidden compartment, Musella said.
They arrested German-Javier at the scene of the search, according to Musella.
German-Javier was charged with third-degree money laundering less than $75,000, third-degree possession of heroin, and third-degree possession of fentanyl, Musella said.
He was released on his own recognizance ahead of a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court.
